Reimagining the Endora dress as a canvas for the work of textile designer Oriette Wood.
Oriette explains her take on the Newspaper print “As a trans woman who is often obliquely feminine, I operate with a particular kind of irreverence, one that blends my love of printed matter with trans visibility, filth, and the erotic. I want to create unities between queer theory and the sartorial history of print, to offer a visibility beyond the political and nightmarish hegemony of transphobia and gender nihilism”.
Named after Endora (Anges Moorehead) in the 1960s television show Bewitched. This staple Edgeley design is simple but boldly elegant. It’s made using Oriette’s Newspaper print as the central panel with black sheer silk georgette as the side panels. A sash / belt can be used to tie it in at the waist. The sash is threaded through gaps in the panel seams but the dress hang loose. It is brilliantly versatile, you can wear it belted for a chic evening dress or loose during the day for a more free-flowing bohemian look. If you are wearing it loose you can use the sash as a head scarf or necktie (maybe a pussy-bow?). It features a back neck slit with tie closing which can also be worn open at the front for a lower neckline.
This is a made to order garment and takes between 2- 3 weeks to made and post.
One size fits most. There is plenty of room to move in this dress. It measures 100cm from sleeve to sleeve/ across body (2 meters total) and 145cm from neck to hem. It can be taken up if you need it shorter.
