Late last year I made a wedding dress for a person I think is absolutely ace. Ruby Koomen, guitarist (the Stang) in Bitch Diesel, PBS presenter in brilliant radio show Garage Land, teacher, florist, mum to little sunshine Ashbyi and lover of gorgeous Ewen. This was the brief Ruby gave me “I really want to be dressed in red and I love your long sleeve outfits with the flairs, I would like a short dress to show off pins”. I designed this baby-doll dress in red devoré with black spotty mesh sleeves and romantic fluted cuffs. During the fitting we realised it needed a belt, so I made black velvet one and finished it with a rhinestone heart buckle. I also had lots of fun making a matching outfit for Ashbyi!!! She was such star for her fitting.
